Japan National Beach Soccer Team's USA & Costa Rica trip report (12 January)

13 January 2017

Japan National Beach Soccer Team's USA & Costa Rica trip report (12 January)

The USA & Costa Rica Trip of Japan National Beach Soccer Team entered its second day in the United States as the team worked on two-a-day training in the morning and afternoon ahead of a friendly against the USA.

The morning session included a physical test where the players did the same workout as yesterday. The players ran seven 30-metre sprints today, checking on how effectively they can maintain the speed. Then, they went through their offensive positioning on a half-sized pitch with the ball passed by hands. As the physical test was high-load, the rest of the session was spared only for penalty kicks in the morning.

After warming up their body, the afternoon session started with tactical training for offence. They reviewed a variety of attacking patterns from build-ups to shots and tried to improve their accuracy. The team had a 5v5 game on a full-sized pitch in the end. In this game-format practice, they reviewed their tactics which they had just worked on in their training and finished the second day of the USA camp.

The following day also has two training sessions to make the best possible preparation for the USA match to be held on Saturday 14 January.

Players' Comments

NAKAHARA Yuki (no team registration)
I appreciate the opportunity to take part in the USA & Costa Rica trip, the first tour in 2017. And we will make every effort as a team for the AFC Championship, which are also the World Cup Asian Qualifiers to be held in March. But we don't have much time left before the qualifiers and only have limited activities with the team. So I will try to make the most out of each and every practice and match. Talking about myself, I will bring out 100% of what I've worked on and stay in good shape at all times. During this trip, we have training matches against the USA and Costa Rica. We want to win them convincingly and take advantage of them for our future.

IINO Tomoyuki (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
I don’t take it for granted the environment where I can concentrate solely on beach soccer, so I appreciate it. Today was the second day of the camp, and we had a physical test with 30-metre dashes and then worked on offensive and defensive tactics in the morning. In the afternoon, we started the training by running with the ball and loosening our body with ball touches. And then, we practised shooting drills that were combined with attacking tactics. In the end, we were able to communicate well with each other while checking on things that we need to do during an intrasquad scrimmage. It was a very productive training. For the AFC Championship set up for the World Cup Asian Qualifiers, we will try to communicate with each other more and improve the accuracy of plays.
