JFA host conditioning refresh training for coaches

The JFA hosted the 2015 conditioning refresh training event, which is officiall approved by the federation, for coaches at Fujimi general ground of Rikkyo University on 24 January. The theme of the training was "Physical training for football~Endurance training using balls and heart rate monitor~" and following a lecture, the participants went through practical training.

We think that at workshops on physical fitness, it's important to combine with lectures and practical training effectively. So for the workshop this time, we had a lecture on the importance of speed endurance in football and approaches on physical training using the ball, and then moved to planning and practical training on the physical training with the ball, and then wrapped it up with a reflection with the references of the cardio datum that were collected during the training. The participants came up with a lot of great ideas with the active attitudes, and it made our lectures very valuable and we appreciate that. As some of the participants demanded, because the workshop was held just for a day and we didn't spare much time for the discussion part after the practical instructions, we would like to consider planning to hold a workshop in which the participants can comprehensively study on football's physical training by staying a night.

I usually didn't have the knowledge on what to pay attention to on physical training, so the content of the lecture was exactly what I wanted to study. After the lecture, we were able to learn some practical instruction as well, and it improved my understanding. When you talk about physical training, the contents vary and depending on what the athlete wants to have, the coach needs to control and you have to have speed endurance in competing in the world – it was beneficial for me to deeply understand the importance.

It was a good occasion for me to think about how you have to adjust the load that's put on a player as well as how you have to make him or her to go through effective football training all in one training. One of the most impressive contents was that it was important that you have to develop your speed endurance by using the ball like in an actual game.
