Kanagawa Football Association’s football centre ‘Kamome Park’ is now open in Izumi-ku, Yokohama

The Kanagawa Football Association’s football centre, ‘Kamome Park’, which was subsidized by the ‘Prefectural Football Centre Implementation Project’, was opened on 5 December in Izumi-ku in Yokohama, Kanagawa. More than 200 people connected to the project from inside and outside of Kanagawa prefecture participated in the completion ceremony to celebrate the new football centre, which everyone has been working hard towards for a long time. After the ceremony, people from the Kanagawa Football Association and the Japan Football Association had a practice match, so that they could break in the brand new ground. Under a crisp wintery clear sky, they had a heated game. In the same evening, a celebration to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Kanagawa Football Association's foundation was held in Yokohama. Kuroiwa Yuji, the governor of the prefecture, made a congratulatory address, and letters of appreciation were given to Saito Fumio, the former President of the Kanagawa Football Association, and Suzuki Ataru, the last President of the Kanagawa Football Association.

Kamome Park includes one football ground with flood lighting facilities and Italian artificial turf, which has an antibacterial and deodorisation effect and prevents temperature increase, two futsal grounds, a clubhouse and 80 parking spaces. It will be used for events hosted by the Kanagawa Football Association, including tournaments, players’ development, and trainings for coaches and referees. It will also be open for hire to the public, so that it can be used as the base for football and sport culture in Kanagawa and improve local community.

UNO Masaru, the President of the Kanagawa Football Association
I’m grateful that many people, including Mr Daini, the President of the JFA, came to the completion ceremony. I’m overjoyed at opening a football centre, which we have wanted so much for so long.
I’ll do my best, so that the dreams of our Kanagawa Football Association will come true. I appreciate your support in the future.
