JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba held at Higashi Ozawa FC Bambina in Ibaraki
11 September 2015
The Higashi Ozawa FC Bambina hosted the “JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba” on Sunday 6 September.
The event was staged as an open practice session for Higashi Ozawa FC Bambina, welcoming any participating players. 19 players from Higashi Ozawa FC Bambina and 12 open-participants, 31 children in total, took part in the event.
After breaking the ice, the children played tag in pairs while dribbling. Many 'skillful tactics' - the real thrill of football - were on display everywhere. The atmosphere among the participating players eased by the time the players were divided into two groups – fourth grade and under and fifth grade and over - for the practice session.
In the group of fourth grade and under, they practiced ball control, and getting through to take shots after dribbling. The children stayed enthusiastic, saying: “I want to try more than others! I’d like to become better!” They got to know each other, remembering names, and cheered with high fives whenever they scored a goal in a mini game.
In the fifth grade and over group, elementary school pupils were challenging junior high school students. The players held a practice session smoothly, focusing on the actual practice matches.
Most of the participants usually play with boys in their own teams, and are awaiting eagerly for opportunities to compete just among girls. They showed lively spirit in the mini game at the end, and enjoyed chasing the ball so much that the event was extended for another 30 minutes.
Host's Comment
HIROHARA Keiji, Coach (U-15 National Team)
It’s been more than a decade since I built the team. I owe many debts to local people in terms of activities for women’s football. As a token of my thanks, although it’s only once a month, I’d like to contribute to the development of local women’s football by hosting the “JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba”.
Each time, around 10 players participate in the event – some are regulars, others come after match in their own teams. Some players even remember when the next event will be, which made me, as a host, over the moon.
At the moment, we haven’t had many beginners - those who 'wants to try football' or 'who just started to play'. So we’d like to promote our event in a better way, so that we can continue this activity. As we have opportunities to use an excellent pitch, which can be used for an official futsal game, we’re planning to have a big one-year anniversary event for girls and ladies at the end of this year.

As the previous experience of the “Nadeshiko Hiroba” inspired my children a lot, we come back here this time. By playing with children from other teams, they could learn the importance of looking around, deciding where to pass , and cooperating with their teammates. It was an excellent experience for them. We’d like to come back again. Thank you.

It is an occasion that any females, from the children to the girls, to the mothers and grandmothers, are able to casually enjoy the game of football. It is run by organizations and facilities that are approved by the JFA.
