Gamba Osaka and Urawa Reds earned a berth in the AFC Champions League 2015

J. League Division 1 in 2014 held games of 33 Section on Saturday, 29th December and Gamba Osaka as well as Urawa Reds secured their third or higher places to be qualified for AFC Champions League (its group stage or playoffs).
The Asian Football Confederation decided distribution of spots to each region for ACL 2015 and 2016 at the executive committee today. In MA (AFC Member Associations) ranking, top two countries in east region, Korea Republic and Japan, are newly given tickets to three teams for the group stage and one team for playoffs. Now Japan gains the largest distribution of spots among countries qualified for ACL as well as top two countries in west region.
Entry qualifications for ACL Champions League 2015 (Japan)
Clubs participating from the group stage;
1) League Champion (The champion club of the J. League Division 1 in 2014)
2) Cup Champion (The champion club of the 94th Emperor's Cup)
3) Second place's club of the league (The club at second place of the J. League Division 1 in 2014)
Clubs participating from playoffs;
Third place's club of the league (The club at third place of the J. League Division 1 in 2014)
If Gamba Osaka, advanced to the Final, wins a championship of the 94th Emperor's Cup, the club at fourth place of the J. League Division 1 in 2014 will be qualified for ACL 2015.
