Gamba Osaka to take on Seongnam FC at home with next round spot at stake – AFC Champions League 2015 Groups Stage MD 6
06 May 2015
The AFC Champions League 2015 are to have the last day of the MD 6 of the group stage on 6 May. Gamba Osaka will play for their advancement against Seongnam FC at their home of Expo ’70 Commemorative Stadium. Here are the comments taken at the press conference on 5 May, one day before the match.
Gamba Osaka
HASEGAWA Kenta, Head Coach
I think it’s impossible to advance out of the group stage unless we win. We lost to Seongnam FC on the road. They were physically strong, very organized and a wonderful team. They are opponents we can’t beat without putting in everything we have. Our players also have strong motivation for this match. We play at home, and we are very determined for this match. We will make sure to win three points and move out of the group stage.
Patric, FW, #29
This is a match we must win no matter what. In the past two matches in the ACL, we have left very good results. It will be a tough match against Seongnam FC, we are focused and with a good sense of urgency. In the J.League match against Urawa on 2 May, we couldn’t show good plays offensively. I didn’t make plays and make actions which I am normally good at. Seongnam FC is a very difficult team to break through, but we will attack to break it through. Our offensive players will do a good job to help out team to win.
Seongnam FC
Kim Hak Beom, Head Coach
We want to play the challenger’s style of football even in this last match. In the ACL matches, we play with a special pride and mindset to represent our K League. Gamba Osaka is one of the best teams in Japan. They have good collectivity and every player is a good player. They have had good results in last few matches. I don’t think they are getting better. Rather I think they are a good team in the first place. We will do our best.
Jung Seonho, MF, #14
We are playing in the ACL with every player and every team staff having a special mindset. We already made sure that we would advance, but I don’t worry about at which place we move out. I only care about winning the match.
