Gamba Osaka to meet FC Seoul at Expo Stadium in 2nd leg of ACL R16 for a place in the quarterfinals

The second leg of the round 16 of the AFC Champions League 2015 will be held this week. Gamba Osaka, who won the first leg 3-1, will play the second leg to book a place in the quarterfinals. The press conference was held prior to the game.

Gamba Osaka

HASEGAWA Kenta, Head Coach
We’ve been careful not to lose our concentration this week. I think we have prepared ourselves in a good atmosphere. I’d like to win tomorrow’s home game to advance to the quarterfinals. We’ll focus on playing our style until the end, not letting the opponent take the initiative. We’ll stay strong.

DF #15   KONNO Yasuyuki
As we won the away game 3-1, we’re in a good position. Having said that, I’d like to stay focused for 90 minutes right from the beginning of the game. I believe the opponent will play aggressively. So if we strike the opener, we can gain an upper hand. I’d like to defend solidly, always staying ambitious for goals.

FC Seoul

Choi Yong Soo, Head Coach
As everyone knows, we are under unfavorable conditions. However, I think of it as if just the first half of a 180-minute game has finished. We never know what might happen in a football match. As head coach, I believe in my players and they will play as hard as possible until the final whistle. We have to score three goals to advance to the quarterfinals. So we’d like to play aggressively, while defending with the greatest care. We’ll cope with the opponent’s attacks, waiting for our opportunities.

FW #36   Jung Jo Gook
In the previous home game, I learned Gamba Osaka was an excellent team and why they won the championship in the J.League. Although we know we are starting tomorrow’s match a few goals behind, what’s vital is to play our style as usual on the pitch. I’ll focus on winning and playing as a united team.
