Coming soon! The 19th All Japan Women’s Youth (U-15) Championship presented by NIKE
25 July 2014
The 19th All Japan Women’s Youth (U-15) Championship presented by NIKE will start on Saturday 26 July. The 32 teams, which survive the regional qualifying rounds, will play in the knockout stage for the chance to become the best secondary school team in Japan.
Club Fields Linda (Kita-Hokkaido 1/Hokkaido) won the Hokkaido qualifying round with 15 goals in three matches, showing their overwhelming strength in attack. Kumagai Saki, the Nadeshiko Japan defender, is also from this team. They will play their first game against FC Schlos Matsumoto (Hokushinetsu 2/Nagano). They are set on ‘playing as a united team’.
FC Miyagi (Tohoku 1/Miyagi), the winner of the Tohoku qualifying round, will play against Hioki Seagulls FC (Kyushu 4/Kagoshima). The team that wins this match will play their second game against the winner of the match between OME-SFC (Kanto 4/Tokyo) and the last year’s champion, Fujieda Junshin Soccer Club Junior Youth Blue (Tokai 2/Sizuoka). The top-seeded team of this championship is Tachibana club ladies (Tokai 1/Mie), who beat Fujieda Junshin Soccer Club Junior Youth Blue 5-1.
There are eight teams from Kanto. Urawa Reds Ladies Youth (Kanto 1/Saitama) are eager to play well, because even though they aimed at becoming back-to-back champions for the sixth time, they were defeated in the first round last year. We also have to keep a watchful eye on NTV Menina Serias (Kanto 2/Tokyo), who went through on penalties against Urawa Reds Ladies Youth in the Kanto qualifying round.
Two teams, FC VICTORIES (Kansai 1/Hyogo) and Smile Selecao (Kansai 2/Kyoto), are from Kansai. INAC Kobe Leonessa U-15 couldn’t advance to the knockout stage, which was decided by lot, even though they had the exactly same score. So these two teams have to play well for INAC Kobe Leonessa U-15.
There are other strong teams, including Aosaki Football Club HANAKO Clover's (Chugoku 1/Hiroshima), who beat Urawa Reds Ladies Youth last year, the only secondary school team Kamimura Gakuen Junior High School Women’s Football Club (Kyusyu 3/Kagoshima), a newcomer Thespakusatsu Gunma U-15 Ladies (Kanto 6/Gunma) and Nakamura Sports (Tohoku 4/Aomori).
The championship to become the best women U-15 team is now starting.
The official coaching training session will be held.
