RANKO Popovic Head Coach, Cerezo Osaka
First of all, I would like to congratulate Guangzhou Evergrande. Their play today deserved a victory more than ours. Frankly speaking, they were better than us today. There are many things in this match that we should learn from. They played very aggressively on the ball. They played very aggressively but at the same time smart enough to avoid fouls. Their attitude to battle. Their strength in crucial moments. All those things make a difference, but we didn't have that. In the first half especially, not just the number of goals allowed but how we played was embarrassing. We didn't have guts to play. We lost balls quite often and weren't aggressive at all. We just didn't have those things in the first half at all. In the second half, we were already in the big deficit, so we took risks and it ended up like that. But in the second half we don't much to look back and correct. But the first half, especially our attitude, needs big improvement.
MARCELLO Lippi Head Coach, GUANGZHOU EVERGRANDE
Q: What do you think about such a big win as 5-1? What did your team do well?
The lead was big today, but it's just the numbers. We didn't play for the size of the lead. We have had many injuries and played many different players every match. But today finally we could get back to who we really are throughout this match. Of course I am glad with this result, but I expect that we keep playing the rest of the matches with the same level of intensity and conditions.
