Canon Girls-eight - the first day of the 12th JFA Hokushinetsu Girls-eight (U-12) Football Tournament
02 November 2014
The Canon Girls-eight Hokushinetsu Football Tournament was held at the Niko-niko farm kids’ football ground in Kijimadaira Village in Nagano on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 November. Nine teams, including one each from Ishikawa and Fukui, two from Toyama, two from Niigata and three from Nagano, participated in this tournament. They divided into three groups and held the qualifying round on the first day. Before the matches, Horino, JFA national training centre coach, hosted a seminar about coaching and taking on fluid for the coaches from the participating teams and for the referees. After the matches, the coaches attended the lecture and the discussion session and the players took part in ‘the respect programme’ hosted by the JFA instructor Kitano in their accommodation, Hotel Panoramaland Kijimadaira. Then the team representatives discussed the various activities undertaken in their respective prefectures.
Guardians’ comment
Mr. MATSUZATO
I learned a lot by attending the coaching lecture as a guardian of the Nagano team. I’m grateful that I had this opportunity. I usually coach snow boarding. Although football is new to me, I enjoyed practicing skills. I’d like to join again as a guardian if I have the chance in the future. Thank you.
Coach’s comment
Mr. KOBAYASHI
I usually work as a goalkeeping coach for the Nagano women’s training centre. I quite often spot that the participant’s gloves are in poor condition at the training centre, and alert the players and the coaches to the importance of maintaining equipment. I offered the same document to the coaches in this tournament. I’d like to continue to focus on developing goalkeepers who can play internationally.
