Sanfrecce Hiroshima to play for pride in home game against FC Seoul in final round of AFC Champions League 2016
04 May 2016
Wednesday 4 May will see the final round of the group stage in the AFC Champions League (ACL) 2016, and Sanfrecce Hiroshima are to play a home game against FC Seoul. Although Hiroshima have already failed to qualify for the next stage, they are determined to win as the J.League champions. FC Seoul, on the other hand, who topped group F, are trying to build positive momentum for the knockout stage by winning the coming game.
The coaches and the players of both teams appeared at a press conference the day before the match at the stadium.
Coach and Players' Comments
MORIYASU Hajime, Coach (Sanfrecce Hiroshima)
Although unfortunately we couldn’t get through the group stage, we must play hard in this home game. We will show our pride and win the game, so that we can please our supporters. FC Seoul have high-quality players, who can realise the team’s concept. They also have a real determination and a hard mentality to win. I want the players to perform 100% tomorrow.
MASUDA Takuya (Sanfrecce Hiroshima)
As I have been really looking to get on the pitch, I’d like to keep a clean sheet while showing off my strengths to contribute to the team tomorrow. I’d like to earn a victory as a team, and come back to the ACL next year.
CHOI Yong Soo, Coach (FC Seoul)
I believe that preparing ourselves better than usual year in our training camp, including early analysis about our opponents, gave us an edge to lead this group. We’d like to show our pride as FC Seoul to our fans by winning tomorrow’s game.
YUN Jutae (FC Seoul)
As I lost in my debut ACL match here two years ago, I’d like to win tomorrow’s game to have a better experience. As Sanfrecce Hiroshima are the J.League champions, I believe they will play with pride. I expect both of the teams to perform well, and with pride.
