The JFA 10th O-40 Japan Football Tournament will be held from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 November in Fujieda, Shizuoka.

This year's competition will feature 15 teams selected from the nine regional FAs, plus a host city representative, for a total of 16 teams. The teams will be divided into groups of four teams where they will compete in a league format, with the top teams advancing to the knock-out stage.

Last year, FC Funabashi (Kanto3/Chiba) advanced through the group stage with a record of one win and two draws, before holding their opponents scoreless in the semi-finals and final to secure their first title.

All four of last year’s semi-finalists have qualified for this year's tournament, as Club Compass Nagoya (Tokai/Aichi), Fujieda FC (Host/Shizuoka), and TONAN CLUB (Kansai/Nara) will be competing in separate groups to start the action.

Another thing to watch out for is the encounters between tournament veterans and rookies. It will be interesting to see whether tournament veterans like Hiroshima Forties (Chugoku/Hiroshima) and Hokkaido Ossandole Sapporo 40 (Hokkaido 1), who are making their seventh and sixth appearances, respectively, can use the experience to their advantage to advance through, or whether Towada Kickers Senior 40 (Tohoku 2/Aomori) and Inano Kantaro (Honshinetsu/Nagano), who are participating in the tournament for the first time, will use their momentum to claim their firs title.

The level of competition in this tournament is getting higher each year, as we see more and more former players of the J.League and JFL joining the action. One of the characteristics of the tournament is the athleticism and high level of intensity of the players, who are in their 40s. What dramas lie ahead this year?
