Comments
URAKAWA Ruka(Yokohama F・Marions Junior Youth)
This time, we could manage to relax in the match unlike the previous one. Personally, I stayed in the defensive midfielder zone to see what was going on and tried to calm down my teammates by passing more when they were too hasty in offense. Especially in the second half, the last defense line was higher so I thought we could get some scoring opportunities if we jumped out even from second or third line. Indeed, I am happy that I could score after running a long distance. Now we can move on to the quarter final, we really want to win this Championship.
UDA Tadashi Head Coach(Avancar FC)
Since it was our first national level match, we just wanted to have a good match experience today. YOKOHAMA FM’s skill was much higher than we expected. Even though we made some pressing defense to cause the opponent’s mistakes, they just fended this off by passing. We could anyway keep our play style and get to know how we are in the national level. Top national team targets our making mistakes and steal the ball to then making scoring opportunities. We have to learn that playing style and I want all of the senior players of my team to share with our junior players what we learned today.
TERADA Shuhei Head Coach(Kawasaki Frontale U-15)
Our players expressed what they wanted to do today. It was an interesting match and I am satisfied with their level of play. However, in this type of match we always have to get a good result and in that sense I should have done some things differently to get the result we wanted. Even though we kept the ball, we cannot win the match if we can’t score. This is what I learned today. I know that any player can get nervous at big matches; I thought that we need to improve ourselves as a team to keep our level of play high.
ARA Takafumi(Yokohama F・Marions Junior Youth Oppama)
Our defense kept persistent pressure on the opponent’s offense which tried to break through us with a lot of passing. I appreciate my team mates for their persistence because I didn’t need to work much as a goalkeeper. Their passing activities were very unreadable and I didn’t have much experience with opponent players who kept passing in front of me as much as they did. Indeed I felt “Oh, go on and shoot”. It was a challenging match but I could keep suggesting to my teammates from behind. I think our patience lead us to win the final penalty shootout.
