Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa achieved long-awaited shutout victory in Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Premier League EAST

Pick Up Match

Tokyo Verdy Youth 0-3(1st 0-2、2nd 0-1) Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa

On Sunday, 20 July, the Prince Takamodo Trophy U-18 Premier League East held its 9th section. With occasional strong summer season sunshine, Players from Tokyo Verdy Youth and Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa swept across the pitch.

In the early stages of the match, Tokyo Verdy Youth started the match strongly. Both side back players kept a high line to cut into the depth of opponent’s space and players such as Hayashi Shogo made crosses into the penalty area. Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa gained momentum gradually and the players didn’t allow their opponents much space by operating in a man-to-man marking system and moved the ball around simply to the front line. By getting in behind the opponents’ side backs to prevent them from attacking, they gradually started to get more into the game. On the 37th minute, DF Mizuno got the first goal scoring from a cross which came from the left side. This increased the morale of the team which spurred them on further.
In the first additional time, Mizuno had a goal scoring opportunity again which led to an intense goalmouth scramble from which Yuya scored the second goal.

In the second half, Tokyo Verdy Youth immediately started counterattack with brilliant passwork. They approached the goal mainly through Nakano Masaomi and Tashiro Renta trying to break the deadlock of the opponent’s intense defense. Though they launched continuous offense against Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa, Anzai Tatsuya was sent off in the 62nd minute for his foul on the goalkeeper. Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa took this chance to recover and then Anzai Tatsuya made the score 3-0 on 64 minutes with a curling ball from a free-kick which was given in the opponent’s left-side penalty area.

The score stayed as it was until the match ended. Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa achieved its first shutout victory since the 3rd Section.

Comments

Togashi Koichi, Head Coach(Tokyo Verdy Youth)
If opponents pressure us, we can just make easy passes and if there is no pressure, we can just move forward. Today, we had to lose the game because of lack of good preparation, which allowed them to score by their set plays and we could not score at all. I think we can never achieve victory, regardless of excellent play, without good preparation both in defense and offence.

NAKANO Masaomi(Tokyo Verdy Youth)
I remember that we did not start well in our previous match against Kashima Antlers Youth (Ibaraki). I’m gutted because we did not win today despite our training over the last week to overcome our issues. It was difficult for us to slip through their intense defense, but we have to manage them by making good decisions. I want to have a good capacity to play well against the kind of team which shows their aggressiveness, like Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa.

ENOMOTO Masahiro, Coach(Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa)
It is great to keep a clean sheet today since we have conceded goals in our past matches. We had training with the theme “we won’t lose if we don’t allow goals” leading up to today’s match with Tokyo Verdy. It sounds quite simple, but I believe that we could do that because each player played their role. Scoring from the set plays was obviously from our intensive training.

Mizuno(Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa)
Since I am confident in the air, I just jumped into the cross with aggressiveness for our first goal. It is nice to score, but I’m also happy because we did not concede any goals today. For the previous week, we prepared ourselves by man-to-man defense training regimen every day to win the match against Tokyo Verdy Youth. I think our victory is because we just wanted to demonstrate in the match today what we improved upon in the training.
