Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18　5-0 (1st 2-0, 2nd 3-0) Kyoto Tachibana High School

The Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Premier League WEST had its match day 7 on 27-28 June, and Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18 played against Kyoto Tachibana High School. 

Sanga’s OGINO Kota reflected the match by saying “My ex teammate OGAWA Reita plays for Kyoto Tachibana, so I really didn’t want to lose the match today”, both teams are based in Kyoto and many players know each other. In the beginning, Sanga couldn’t move the ball well.  

The team’s Head Coach MORIOKA Ryuzo said afterwards “Since we haven't played an official match for a while, the players were bit nervous and that made me worried”. However, Sanga’s SHIMAMURA Yuya started showing skillful dribbling and the team gradually took the control of the match, flirting Kyoto Tachibana’s DFs. 

On the 5th minute, Sanga’s MONJI Kosei made a 1 on 1 opportunity against Kyoto Tachibana’s GK and continued to control the match. They could get the first opener on the 29th minute when OGINO stroke a middle shot from a miss shot in the centre. He made another long shot, which successfully hit the back of the net from the halfway line. The 1st half ended with Sanga’s lead 2-0. 

In the 2nd half, Sanga didn’t stop its attack. On the 54 minute HIROKAWA Yuta’s right corner kick forced Kyoto Tachibana High School’s own-goal and Sanga got its 3rd goal. Kyoto Tachibana tried to counter attack, on the 65 minute, Kyoto Tachibana’s BANDO Ryo jumped ahead of the opponent’s DF to get a goal kick and then carried on moving the ball until the final shot, but it didn’t strike the back of the net.

Kyoto Tachibana gained its strength to attack the Sanga’s goal, but on the 84 minute, Sanga’s MORIYA Keiki made a 4th goal and in the additional time Sanga got another goal by MATANO Aiki whose shot was made from a corner kick. The match ended 5-0. As Morioka said, “I have nothing to say, they did well”, Sanga dominated the match against Kyoto Tachibana and have now got 3 consecutive wins.

Today we didn’t have 2 FW starting players and some of other key players due to injuries, but it was the game that made us know that team’s condition has been better. They got a good result after a series of good hard challenges they have experienced. 

Substitute players are very positive and are serious at each training session and I said to them before the match “You are making a very good team, but what is important for a good team is whether you can move up to be a stronger team; can you get a couple of consecutive wins?” Honestly speaking, this is beyond what I expected and they did wonderfully.

I take the fact that we lost the match 0-5 very seriously. Based on the previous match experiences, we changed DF line formation but I have to reconsider this for the next matches. We could make a scoring chance in the middle of the 2nd half, but it was too late after losing 3 goals. 

It could have been different if we could show our aggressiveness before losing multiple goals. They took more pressed defense after losing 3 goals but what happened actually was they just jumped in behind us to score. The match today clearly showed our current level.

2nd strongest Gamba Osaka (Osaka) Youth had their away match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima FC Youth (Hiroshima) and finished the 1st half with the lead of 1-0, but Sanferecce’s KATO Mutsuki equalised on 85 minutes and they drew the match. 

In the match between Higashi Fukuoka High School (Fukuoka) and Oita Trinita U-18, both from the Kyusyu area, scored in the 2nd half and Oita beat Higashi Fukuoka High School 2-0. 

Nagoya Grampus U18 (Aichi) beat Riseisha High School (Osaka), and this is Nagoya’s first victory in this Premier League with 3 goals which began from KITANO Haruya’s first goal on 15 minutes. 

Cerezo Osaka U-18 (Hyogo) beat Vissel Kobe U-18 (Hyogo) by defending their goal especially after they scored in the 1st half, and stay as the top team.
