FC Tokyo, Shimizu watching for chance to move up – Prince Takamado Trophy Premier League EAST
03 July 2015
With their victorious start just after the league's resuming, Aomori Yamada High School (Aomori) face Kashima Antlers Youth (Ibaraki). Aomori Yamada's defence kept solid as they conceded only one goal to Shimizu S-pulse Youth (Shizuoka) in the last match, despite lacking goalkeeper HIROSUE Riku due to his Japan U-18s overseas duty. With catching their pace with reliable defensive effort, Aomori look to clinch points from league-leading Kashima.
It is also interesting to see a Chiba outfit’s face-off between Ichiritsu Funabashi High School and Kashiwa Reysol U-18. Ichiritsu Funabashi aim to come back with a home win after falling to JFA Academy Fukushima (Shizuoka) in the last match with an added-time goal of the second half.
The opposing Kashiwa's SAKAMOTO Ryoto says, "We could've won the match. Next we will play our game and get a win out of it." The close match against the top flights apparently gave his team confidence.
Ryutsu Keizaidai Kashiwa High School (Chiba), struggling down in ninth place after the last loss, have a home match against Omiya Ardija Youth (Saitama), who posted five ties in seven matches, missing a victory in most of their matches. It is urgent for Ryutsu Keizaidai Kashiwa to enhance their defence, considering that they conceded six goals in the last two matches combined.
Meanwhile, Omiya urge their offensive end, including Kawata Kento scoring goals in the three straight matches, to brace themselves up.
Eight placed Consadole Sapporo U-18 (Hokkaido) face rock-bottom JFA Academy Fukushima (Shizuoka). Both teams go out for the contest with a good picture after grabbing a victory in the last match. SUGA Daiki takes a pivotal role of Sapporo's offence as he scored four goals out of the team’s total of seven.
Academy Fukushima’s defence seems to be improving as they showed it by allowing only a goal in the last match against Ichiritsu Funabashi, who have a strong attacking force. In the following match, the academy side look to keep a clean sheet, led by goalkeeper Obi Powell Obinna.

F.C. Tokyo U-18 vs. Shimizu S-Pulse Youth
Fourth placed F.C. Tokyo U-18 (Tokyo) meet seventh placed Shimizu S-Pulse Youth (Shizuoka) at home. F.C. Tokyo U-18 worked hard during the break as head coach SATO Kazuki says, "Not to concede a goal, but to grab a goal for our own. We will pursue quality in front of both our goalmouth and the opponents’."
In the last contest against Omiya, Tokyo added one point after holding up well through the Omiya’s dominating spell. It is a must-see if they can keep up their tenacious game.
The Shimizu side's concern is that they have not kept any of the last three opponents scoreless. On the last matchday, Shimizu found what they needed to improve as they conceded a goal in the closing minutes of both first and the second halves. How well they can get rid of such a concern is the key to a win in the next clash.
