Japan Futsal National Team shortlisted squad training camp report (6/3)

Japan Futsal National Team shortlisted squad training camp report (6/3)

On the final day of their training camp, the short-listed Japan National Futsal Team began their training at 9:30 a.m. They stretched themselves thoroughly and made ball exchanging drills with the entire squad. While the ball exchanging give them a chance to check their feelings with their feet and physical conditions, by giving them some different limits, it gives them opportunities to communicate with each other, and it naturally prepares themselves both physically and mentally for their following training menus.

To wrap up the training camp, they were divided into three groups and played intra-squad matches. The whole team made their final checking on moves and passing flows that head coach Miguel intends them to have towards another training camp they'd hold next week (June 8-10).

They tried to intensively deepen their communication inside the team in such a short time of three days in the camp. The team aims at further development and were able to spend meaningful time in it.

Players' Comments

MINAMOTO Akira (Fuchu Athletic FC)
It was my first training camp in half a year, since the Croatia game (in December last year), but I was able to make a fruitful time. Because I played in a different style on the national team from how I usually do, I had different inspirations. On the final day, we had game-style practices, I think I was able to share detailed feelings in games that you won't know by just observing from outside.

Since we are in the league right now, it's a little hard for us to focus on it, but towards the AFC Futsal Championship that will be held in next year's February, I want to switch my head between the national team and my own club.

TAKITA Manabu (Pescadola Machida)
In the first national team activity for me in a while, because we play differently from my team, I think I made many mistakes. However, I think I had high-level training, and the team's mood was still great, so both as an individual and as a group, we were able to spend valuable time. We don't have much time before next February’s AFC Futsal Championship, we want to keep developing our accuracies.
