Japan Women's Futsal National Team camp ahead of AFC Women's Futsal Championship Malaysia 2015 (9/20)
21 September 2015
On 20 September, with one day to go before the AFC Women's Futsal Championship Malaysia 2015, the coaches from each team appeared at a press conference. ARIHARA Masaaki, the coach of the Japan Women's Futsal National Team, expressed his aims: “our team are targeting the final. So each and every match will be extremely important to achieve our aim.”
In the afternoon, the team held a meeting to look at the previous practice sessions on video, checking their tactics for the opening match tomorrow.
In the evening, the team arrived at Nilai Indoor Stadium, in which the actual match will be held, for an open practice session. They commemorated Dettmar CRAMER, dubbed “the father of Japanese soccer”, who contributed hugely to Japan’s football, prior to the practice session.
Then they held a 45-minute open practice session in order to check the condition of the pitch and to condition themselves.
Players' Comments
GK #2 YAMASHITA Miyuki (Amarelo/Mine FC)
We held the last training session prior to the championship. Although we only did some light conditioning, it was good preparation for tomorrow’s first match by getting a sense atmosphere of the stadium and checking the condition of the pitch. I feel a little nervous, but I’d like to show what we’ve learned through our training camp, playing as a united team.
FP #9 SEKINADA Minako (arco-iris KOBE)
I was a little intimidated by the atmosphere of the stadium, but also became so excited to play on this pitch. We checked our attack and defence, as well as set pieces, in preparation for tomorrow’s game.
I’d like to get good results in both attack and defence, showing what we’ve been practicing so far. I feel nervous, as it will be the first match of the championship. I’ll try hard to take the initiative with aggressive defence.
