Match Report

U-21 Japan Provisional National Team had a training match with a J2 team Avispa Fukuoka to check on their improvement from the training camp in Fukuoka. Starting players were: Sugimoto as a goalkeeper; Muroya, Iwanami, Ueda, and Yamanaka, for defender from right to left; Akino for defensive midfielder; Oshima and Yajima as wingers; and Notsuda, Suzuki, and Nakajima for forward player.

On 3 minutes, Japanese player Nakajima received a pass from left side and sent the ball across the pitch to Notsuda who was on the opposite side. He caught the ball slightly outside of the penalty area and dribbled deeper inside to shoot. The ball was blocked but Oshima got another chance which led him scored the first goal. Japan did not allow Avispa any goals and they took the score to 2-0 with Iwanami’s headed goal whose chance was made by Akino’s pass to the front of the goal.

Second half started with the players of: Niekawa for goalkeeper; Ito, Nishino, Nara, Kamekawa for defenders from right to left; Yoshino for defensive midfielder; Harakawa for right midfielder and Kida for left midfielder; and Kanamori, Arano, and Toyokawa for forward player from right to left. They kept the match score at 2-0 while trying to change some systems and positions and finally Japan won the match with 2-0.
U-21 Provisional Japan National Team has finished its last training camp in Fukuoka and will head to the Asian Games next month.

Comments

TEGURAMORI Makoto, the Head Coach
Our themes of today’s match were to understand our team’s concept and being pragmatic to be flexible throughout the game. The players did very well paying good attention to these themes. I think the players have high motivation to improve themselves and learning lots of things. They are going back to their teams now; I expect them to play in each of their teams as much as possible keeping their motivation high to work for Japanese national team in the future.

OSHIMA Ryota(Kawasaki Frontale)
Even though the camp was for such a short time, I think could pay more attention to the team’s concept comparing to the camp in Osaka last June. However, I still feel that we can reflect this concept more on our football. We are going back to each team, and I want to do my best to be selected again. Once I was selected, I will play consistently as a squad player.

YAMANAKA Ryosuke(JEF United Chiba)
I could experience various play systems during the 3 days of training camp. I believe that we can improve our communication and combination together if we try our best in each training session. I just want to maximise this limited time as much as possible.
