U-16 Japan National team training camp for AFC U-16 Championship in Thailand - report (9/5)
06 September 2014
The team visited and saw the Rajamangala National Stadium that hold the 1st and 2nd match of the group stage, ahead of an opening game tomorrow. All players checked conditions of the field, imaging a match in each position. They moved by bus after that, making a practice to get in shape for a tomorrow's game at Rajvinij School Field.
Since the team arrived at Thailand, there has been no typical squall of the Southeast Asia during its trainings. However, 30 minutes after the beginning of today's session, it started to rain hardly.
Though players and staffs got soaked, all of them assumed a real match, considering this situation positively as "playing in such condition would be a good experience for players".
All players showed fighting spirit in their faces, doing 90-minute practice menu including a intrasquad game and encouraging the team to unite for fighting in the game. We will have an important opening game against Hong Kong in the group stage tomorrow, Sep 6th. Let's closely watching a heated battle by the young Japan national team!
Players Comments
CHIDA Keito(Yokohama F・Marinos Youth)
I came into a training today with a feeling of tension for an opening game tomorrow. I played to intentionally encourage myself and my team mates in each practice menu. Also, getting a sudden shower, I tried to avoid misplays under the assumption of the same situation in a real game.
YASUI Takuya (Vissel Kobe U-18)
When I caught a sudden rain in a practice, I successfully played according to every occasion as I always try to. The team will unite and fight against the opponent in a very significant opening match tomorrow and I will surely attempt to kick a goal, not missing a chance.
