U-19 Japan Women's National Team short-listed squad’s training camp report (7/30)
31 July 2015
It was the 3rd day of the U-19 Japan Women’s National Team training camp on 30 July.
Since they had the training match on previous day, the players started the training sessions with physical recovery. After some jogging, all players spent the rest of the morning training with stretching exercises.
Before the afternoon sessions, all players had time to watch the video of the training match to check their improvements and issues as a team. During the meeting, there was a heavy shower but it stopped before the afternoon training started and the players had to go through the remaining sessions of the day in very humid hot weather.
Considering what they had discussed in the team meeting, they had more practical sessions such as 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 on a half pitch.

ASANO Natsumi (JFA Academy Fukushima)
In the morning we had physical recovery sessions to release tiredness from the training match we had yesterday.
In the afternoon we had 1-on-1, 2-on-1, and 3-on-2 sessions. If you include goalkeeper the number of players became equal, so how the goalkeeper and defenders could make good combinations was very important.
In front of the goal, you have to think about what you don’t want the opponents to do, avoiding what could possibly happen. I still have to improve ability in making assumptions of what opponents can possibly do when attacking.
Tomorrow we have another training match so I will pay more attention to this and make good combination with defenders to try to keep a clean sheet.
HAZA Hisui (Nippon Sport Science University)
The training match tomorrow is the last one of this training camp. In this camp, I have mainly focused on switching between offense and defense, how to break offense, and 1 vs. 1. We want to show what we have learned and keep our level of play as a team.
Tomorrow we are playing against a men’s high school team; the players will be different from women players in speed and fitness so tomorrow we want to play hard to compete well with them.
Personally, pass accuracy and how to respond to speedy play are my issues, so I want to improve throughout the match tomorrow. As a centre-back player, I want to keep a clean sheet and get a good result in the end.
