U-23 Japan Women’s National Team short-listed squad training camp Day 3 (11/26)

27 November 2015

U-23 Japan Women’s National Team short-listed squad training camp Day 3 (11/26)

U-23 Japan Women’s National Team short-listed squad attended the third day of their training camp.

Prior to the session, the players reviewed video of the training match the day before to share individual and team tasks.

It had been raining until early morning, but stopped before the practice session. Under sunny intervals, the players started training with some stretching and jogging.

They focused on keeping possession, doing some 6-on-6 as well as 8-on-8 with a free player, and moved onto a practice match to finish their three-day training camp.

Players' Comments

HAMADA Haruka (Vegalta Sendai Ladies)
During this training camp, I realised the importance of thinking tactically while playing. I must think about how to eliminate paths for the opponent behind me when I defend and about where to position myself to take shots when I attack. Also I learned that if I improve the quality of my play, I will have more options for the next movement. I’d like to continue to work on my tasks, which I found during the camp, back in my club team, so that I can improve myself as much as possible.

NAKAZATO Yu (Nippon TV Beleza)
In today’s session, we focused on possession as well as the quality and speed of passes in a game, trying to fix our tasks found in yesterday’s match. Tiny delays or insufficient speed can be fatal in an international match. So I’d like to bear that in mind and practice hard everyday. I have found many problems to work on during this camp. I can fix some of them very quickly by changing my view, while it’ll take longer to fix others. I’d like to think of those tasks as positive factors, which give me an opportunity to improve myself.
