Match Report
"00JAPAN", U-15 Japan National Team short-listed squad, played a 40-minute half practice game against Ozu High School and posted a 2-1 win.
U-15 Japan National team short-listed squad, who entred the game with almost the same squad they used from their previous game against Higashi Fukuoka High School, tried to create rhythm as their front players repeatedly attacked dribbling from early, but had tough times having shots before Ozu's physical defensive plays. On 24th minute, forward YOSHIDA Tasuku ran into a space behind Ozu's defensive line, having a 1-on-1 situation against the goalkeeper, but the 'keeper deflected Yoshida's shot and Ozu's defender cleared the ball before it was about to cross the goal line.
As they struggled to score a goal, they gradually began making passing mistakes and weren't able to send the ball into the front line, which would give the opponents some rhythm. On 28th, Ozu found a way to attack on a side and fired a shot, but it barely missed the goal mouth, going above the bar. A minute later, Ozu again attacked and their player put a cross from the left side into the goal to take a 1-0 lead. Ozu almost added another on 35th, when they had a long shot, but it was saved by goalkeeper TAKAYAMA Shioki. The game entred halftime with Ozu up 1-0.
The stalemate situation continued into the second half as well as they weren't really able to create shots. Yet Japan gradually had a rhythm by substituting their players. While goalkeeper Takayama kept showing consistent defensive plays, Japan finally tied the game on 66th, when midfielder NAKAMURA Keito received a pass in the centre field and then he quickly dribbled up. Nakamura then sent a through pass to forward TANAHASHI Akito and he dodged past the Ozu goalkeeper and fed to midfielder KUBO Takefusa. Kubo netted a game-equalizer.
Also on 74th, forward MIYASHIRO Taisei received a long pass from defender SUGAWARA Yukinari up front, and then he fired a shot into the goal, drawing Ozu defenders, to have a lead. Japan weren't able to add another goal though they made scoring chances. But boosted by the players who came in as substitutes, the team posted a 2-1 win. With the outcome, Japan wrapped up their Kumamoto training camp with a 2-2 record.
"00 Japan" will become the U-16 Japan National Team next year, and plan to have another activity in mid-February.
* "00 JAPAN" is the nickname of the U-15 Japan National Team that consists of members who were born after 2000.
Players' Comments
TAKAYAMA Shioki (Shonan Bellmare U-15 Hiratsuka)
I played in an entire game today for the first time, and I realised that my decision making speed according to situations was too slow. I would like to train and accumulate more game experience so I can become a player who can read the game. In today's game, I was able to get high balls and then quickly feed them to the front players, but I still lacked accuracy, so I would like to improve on that. I'm going back to the club, but I would like to more actively challenge on things, speak more vocally to lead everybody and polish my own strengths.
SHIMIZU Ryoma (Shizuoka Gakuen Junior High School)
I got to know that my dribbling that I'm using on my own team was effective against high school players. I now want to develop the accuracy and increase the patterns of attacking going forward. I still made some misjudgments and made so many mistakes on passing, so I understand those are my issues to look at. This team has a good mood and everybody is cheerful and positive. I was glad that I received a lot of support. I would like to do my best going forward.
YOSHIDA Tasuku (JEF United Ichihara Chiba U-15)
Compared with the game the day before yesterday, I think that I was able to show some plays that would build confidence like overtaking opponents with dribbling, which is my own strength. Yet I don't have the ability to anticipate plays before I receive the ball, and because my decision making speed was too slow, I got surrounded by their defenders, so those are my issues to correct. I've realised that I lacked the competitiveness for the ball and decision making ability through this trip, so when I go back to the team, I would like to keep working on my training to overcome the issues.
