Match Report
Japan Futsal National Team played a training match against the Chinese Taipei Futsal National Team on Monday 8 February. In the 12th minute, NIBUYA Kazuhiro struck the opener, followed by WATANABE Tomoaki’s goal just two minutes later, building a two-goal lead.
The game went into the second half at 2-0. In the second half, although Japan continued to take the initiative, the opponent created several goal-scoring opportunities. The goalkeeper FUJIWARA Jun, however, led the team in defending solidly and did not let Chinese Taipei find the back of the net.
After 25 minutes, TAKITA Manabu fired a strong shot, accelerating Japan’s attack. Then MORIOKA Kaoru used a combination, which they had been practicing, to strike Japan’s fourth goal in the 34th minute. Though Chinese Taipei threw everything into attack in the remaining time, they could not score with their goal-scoring opportunities before the final whistle. Japan won the game 4-0.
As Japan may meet Chinese Taipei again in the knockout stage if both get through to the next round, they wished good luck to each other after the game. The players and the staff of both teams took part in the team photo-shoots.

#9 MORIOKA Kaoru (NAGOYA OCEANS)
It’s been four days since we arrived in Uzbekistan, and I’m feeling physically recovered from the jet lag. We won a training match against Chinese Taipei 4-0, and are gradually getting in good condition prior to the actual games. I’d like to try our hardest as a team, so that we can win three consecutive AFC Futsal Championships, not to mention booking a place in the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia.
#5 YOSHIKAWA Tomoki (MAGNA GURPEA/Spain)
By winning the training match today, I think we built up positive momentum in preparation for the first game of the championship. With two days before Japan’s first match, I’d like to prepare well in order to win three consecutive AFC Futsal Championships.
#7 HENMI Katsutoshi Rafael (SL Benfica/Portugal)
I was pleased that we won against Chinese Taipei. We’re getting ready as a team for the curtain-up. I’d like to stay focused in practice sessions and rest properly throughout the championship, and get myself ready for the match against Qatar on Thursday 11 February.
