Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad Brazil trip report (3/18)
20 March 2016
Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad departed Narita Airport to Brazil late at night on the 17 March. After the long journey that took over 30 hours, the team arrived in Rio de Janeiro on next day. This trip is their first activity of this year as a team.
After arriving at the airport around 15:00, they moved to their hotel and took some rest. At 19:00, the team started their first training sessions at Copacabana Beach.
At the beginning, the players spent a longer time for jogging and stretching to release stress from the long journey, then they had football volley game in a relaxed atmosphere. Towards the end, they shifted to some basic sessions for passing and control. The relaxed feeling was changed immediately by the Coach’s passionate attitude, and the first day sessions ended with a sense of tension.
The temperature was not high since their training was in the night time and it was easier to move. From next day, the team is starting the training on a hot, sunny beach.
Players' Comments
GK #1 TERUKINA Shingo (Sol Mar Praia)
Since we had the session after a long journey, I paid attention to releasing my stiff muscles today. Since last year, Paulo GK Coach joined the camp. I appreciate his instruction for making a good result throughout last year as a player, so I expect that I can start this season positively. In this camp, we will play against the Brazil National Team twice; that means we have another chance to correct our issues from the first match, so I want to make the most of this opportunity.
FP #13 NISHIGUCHI Keisuke (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
This is my first trip to Brazil and I have never before had a 30 hour journey so it was very difficult for me to spend that amount of time in an airplane. At first I was bit nervous but the experienced players made a positive atmosphere for the new players to join the team easily. It was the same day as we arrived in Brazil so the sessions we had were light, however I found that each basic skill was of a very high-level. In this trip, I want to maximise my advantage of left footed shooting; I want to get a good result scoring against Brazil National Team.
