Japan Futsal National Team short-listed squad begins training camp
21 August 2018
On Monday 20 August, the short-listed squad of the Japan Futsal National Team began its three-day training camp that will take place until Wednesday 22 August.
The training camp was held for the first time since their previous camp in July. In this camp Pescadola Machida’s MUROTA Yuki withdrew himself due to unwell condition and ITO Keita (Pescadola Machida Aspirante), who has been excelling as a member of the F. League Selection team was brought in to the camp.
The team held a meeting prior to the training session where Coach Bruno GARCIA spent majority of the time talking about the purpose of the camp, as well as how the players should prepare themselves ahead of the Futsal World Cup to be held in 2020.
On this day the team went through their stationary attacks such as their set-plays, followed by a 4 vs 3 format drills with the intention to put the emphasis on situations that can decide the match. The session was conducted with consideration to those who had just played in their league matches, while the players were seen staying focused throughout the entire two-hour session.
Players' Comments
FP UCHIMURA Shunta (Shonan Bellmare)
This was our first session together, but despite having many new players in the squad, we managed to conduct a high-quality session to go over our tactics. Ahead of the future schedules, we will continue to put in our efforts to prepare ourselves and improve our combinations.
FP YOSHIKAWA Tomoki (NAGOYA OCEANS)
It was our first training camp in a month, but I think we were able to put in a good training session. It’ll be just for three days, but it will give us an opportunity to improve ourselves ahead of the overseas tour scheduled next month. We will continue to stay focused and work hard in our training sessions.
FP ITO Keita (Pescadola Machida Aspirante)
The training session was very dense from the first day. I will give my best to understand the team concept as well as the tactics as soon as possible, while I communicate with others to improve myself during this camp.
