For the U-16 International Dream Cup 2015 Japan Presented by JFA to take place from Wednesday 24 June at J-GREEN Sakai and Kincho Stadium, the U-16 Chile National Team arrived at Kansai International Airport yesterday evening. 

Despite their over-30-hour-long flight, the players did not show any sign of fatigue and had a light workout nearby as soon as they arrived at the hotel. They are scheduled to take on another tune-up session today and play the first match of the tournament against U-16 France National Team tomorrow.

I am pleased to join this tournament. It’s the first time for all the players to come to Japan, and I believe they will have a good experience by playing against such great teams as Japan, France and Costa Rica. This team are centred on the players that played in Doha, Qatar in this February. They are ready to play. We will make sure to play as we always play.

Getting a good experience is one of the goals, but we came here to win the championship. This U-16 Chile National Team have 15 year olds as the team’s core. So it will be a great opportunity to play against one year older players.

This time we play to win. We are proud as the Chile National Team, and we want Japanese people to see what Chilean football and South American football are all about.
