U-17 Japan Women’s National Team's USA trip report (2/8)

09 February 2016

U-17 Japan Women’s National Team's USA trip report (2/8)

U-17 Japan Women's National team entered the second day of their trip to the USA.

They started with passing and controlling in the practice, making sure they'd establish those fundamental skills. After the passing and controlling, they did practical training like 2-on-1, 2-on-2 and 3-on-3.

In the afternoon, they were divided into the offensive group and defensive group and went through more practical menus. They wrapped up the day with intra-squad game.

During a meeting after the dinner, goalkeeper coach KOBAYASHI Shinobu lectured with a theme of coordination between offence and defence including the goalkeeper.

Players' Comments

MF #10  NAGANO Fuka (Urawa Reds Ladies Youth)
We jogged in the morning and then practiced both during the morning and afternoon today. We worked on so many different menus, including playing against defenders, playing in narrow areas and crossing and shooting. I would like to get in our next game with a positive image. At night, we were lectured about nutritions, and I'm going to practice what I learned from my private life.

DF #14  TOMITA Miyu (Sakuyo High School)
I've been called up for the national team for the first time. This team have so many players who have things that I don't have, and I appreciate that. Hopefully I will absorb so many different things. I would like to training with a one-day-at-a-time mentality and give everything I have.

GK #18  TANAKA Momoko (Nippon TV Menina)
We worked on some practical training like 2-on-1 and how to deal with crosses today. There were some occasions that we could get the ball by communicating with my teammates, and there were occasions that I wasn't do it well and made mistakes. So I would like to have better communication, adjusting things, and get in our next game. I've been accustomed with the environments in USA, so I would like to refocus and go about every practice with greater effort.
