U-17 Japan Women’s National Team's USA trip report (2/9)
10 February 2016

U-17 Japan Women's National team were on the third day of their USA trip.
The players started by passing the ball around to refresh their minds and bodies. Although the temperature drops down in the morning and at night, strong sunshine appears the during practice sessions. After breaking the ice, they practiced reacting to crosses both in attack and defence.
In the afternoon, they were divided into three groups to practice applying pressure in defence, thinking of the match on 11 February. Then they played a practice game to finish their one-hour-and-a-half training session.
After dinner, the doctor SAITO Masahiko gave a lecture about doping. The players learned about forbidden drugs and being extremely careful what to goes into your body. They started to get ready physically and mentally for the coming World Cup, not only with football techniques, but also with everyday knowledge.

DF #3 ONO Nana (Nippon TV Menina)
In the morning, we practiced kicking the ball and sending in crosses. In terms of kicking, we focused on basic skills, such as stopping the ball or kicking it. As for crosses, it was good that the two centre backs stayed vocal to improve our play each time following a discussion. We focused on keeping possession in the afternoon. As we still tend to be slow to move forward in defence, or cannot communicate well enough to steal the ball as a team, I’d like to fix those problems in the remaining practice sessions. I hope we will get a good result, showing what we have been practicing.
MF #7 KITAMURA Nanami (Cerezo Osaka Sakai Girls)
It was the first time I have joined the training camp. Although I was nervous at first, I became more relaxed gradually through each session. In two days, the championship will finally start, and we will meet Korean Republic for our first game. During the championship, there will be fewer practice sessions. So I’d like to use the limited remaining time effectively and productively, so that I can improve myself as much as possible.
