Japan U-18s reach Russian int’l final

The Japan U-18 team reached the final of the Valentin Granatkin Memorial International youth tournament by beating Turkey 3-0 in the semifinals on Friday in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kitagawa Koya gave Japan an early lead in the eighth minute and Okugawa Masaya made it 2-0 in the 58th minute, before Sugimoto Taro found the target for Japan again in the last minute.
The young Japanese side will play hosts Russia in Sunday’s final. Russia advanced to the final with a 3-1 win over Slovakia.
