Japan U-18 team cherish training camp period (26 March-27 March)

26 March (Thursday)

The Japan national Under-18 squad played a training match against Oita Trinita and after that, they had a barbeque outside to refresh their mind. It was a birthday for Miyoshi Koji and there were some others who were born in March as well, and the team celebrated them. Many of the players exhibited quick gags to amuse the event, and Miyoshi did a one-liner himself in the end. The place was cooked with their laughters.

27 March (Friday)

In the morning training, the team focused on correcting the issues they had from the Oita Trinita game of the previous day. They held a meeting before the training and went on to have the session while each other recognized his issues at the moment.

In the afternoon, the whole team members observed a 2015 Kirin Challenge Cup match between SAMURAI BLUE (Japan men's national team) and Tunisia. One of the purposes for their training camp was to let the young players watch the Japan A-team in person and feel something out of it to get a hint for their future growths. It wound up being an important experience for the players.

The team was scheduled to play an intra-squad game in the morning of the next day, and then be dismissed after that.

Comments

Itakura Kou(Kawasaki Frontale)
In the morning practice, we shared what we are trying to do with the team and worked with a higher motivation. At the Japan national team game, we were able to observe some of the things we are also trying to do, and it made me think that I want to eventually play at the stage. We will have the final day of the training camp tomorrow, so we hope to have a good training to wrap it up.

Urata Itsuki(JEF United Chiba)
We observed the Japan national team's game today. While we have some players who came to a training camp for the first time, we tried to share our team concepts as one of our themes. We saw some similar things that we want to do on our team in terms of strategies and concepts and we were inspired very much. We still have a long way to go, but I think that we are gradually sharing our image with the entire team. In order to improve this, we will need to take communication even more both on and off the field, sharing our image.

Kubota Kazune(Kashima Antlers)
I'm glad that I was called up to participate in this training camp of the national team this time. At our training, I have gradually been able to be peculiar about my judgement of each play and the qualification of my plays, having the image of actual games in my head. I would like to reduce the number of judgement and technical mistakes to help our team to play a higher quality of football. We watched the game between Japan and Tunisia, and learned a lot of different things including the distances of their support and positioning. We will have our final training tomorrow, so we want to lead the team so I can raise my level both as well as the team's level.

Doan Ritsu(Gamba Osaka Youth)
We held a meeting before the practice today and shared our team strategies. And in the practice, we worked on some 3-on-3s and 8-on-7s. I was able to be aware of defensive stuff like covering positions and pressuring speed during it. We also watched a game of the Japan national team and I was inspired a lot as we experienced the mood at the stadium and watched that some of the players I've played with are doing great out there. Tomorrow's the final day of our camp, but I would like to keep working on what I've been aware of.
