U-19 Japan National Team UAE trip report (10 June)
11 June 2014
Coming back home from the UAE trip, the U-19 Japan National Team had training in Yokoyama. After warming up, they engaged in a passing drill in 4-on-2 situations, and then got split into groups by positions to check notable strategies both in offense and defence.
There were also the players from J2 clubs who couldn’t join the team during last weekend due to their regular season matches. Although the practice lasted only 60 minutes, it was still done in a very cheerful mood.
Before and after dinner, the team had meetings with the film of the second friendly match against the U-19 UAE National Team. Every player studied his own play shown in the film.
Tomorrow, they will play a training match against Yokohama FC. They will aim for not only a win but also a quality match to take the momentum onto the AFC U-19 Championship.

HIROSE Rikuto(Mito Hollyhock)
It’s a short camp, but it’s very fortunate and inspiring to play football with these guys who all are doing well with their clubs. Tomorrow we will have a match. We will do our best to show our team concept that we have worked on so far, and I will try to help my team win.
TAKAGI Daisuke(Tokyo Verdy)
It’s such a short period this time to play on this national team but I am still happy to be here. It’s been a while since I was on the team last time, but this team has a good atmosphere where we all can enjoy playing football so much. Even in that fun atmosphere, I also want to do my best to get better. I will play hard in the tomorrow’s training match. I will always remind myself of the team concept and try to perform well for a good result both as a team and for myself individually.
HATANAKA Shinnosuke(Tokyo Verdy)
I was a little nervous because it had been a while since I played on the national team camp last time, but this team has a friendly environment as always, so I could blend in without a problem. If I show all I have learned so far in the tomorrow’s match against Yokoyama FC, I think that will get me to the next level, so I will do my best.
