Japan U-19 begin training camp ahead of AFC U-19 Championship (29 Sep)
30 September 2014
Japan National U-19 Team began their training camp in Aya, Miyazaki in preparation for the AFC U-19 Championship.
Prior to the training sessions, a welcome ceremony was held as representatives from Miyazaki Prefecture and Aya Town gave the team encouraging words and gifts. Head coach Suzuki expressed his appreciation to those who welcomed the young Japan, and the boss and Miyazaki native Yoshimaru presented their official kits to them on behalf of the entire team.
After the ceremony, the squad started their training sessions.
Considering the fatigue from their matches held last weekend, they worked mainly on running and passing drills.
Japan U-19 will have the training until 3 October in Aya, Miyazaki and depart from Narita for the host country Myanmar on 4 October.

I’m happy to have the final training camp for the AFC U-19 Championship here in my hometown Miyazaki. We don’t have so much time until the championship but will try hard to be in good shape as a team. We are having a string of practices and warm-up matches, so we will work together to adjust our condition. I want to contribute to the team qualifying for the U-20 World Cup, which Japan have failed to play three consecutive times.

I’m happy to be selected for the squad of the AFC U-19 Championship in October. Today our training camp just started. It’s very fulfilling environment here in terms of football and meals. And it allows us to easily communicate with each other. That’s very satisfying. I will work hard on each day of the training and work together to qualify for the U-20 World Cup, where we didn’t play last three times.
