U-19 Japan National Team launched their training for the Suwon JS Cup
18 May 2016
The U-19 Japan National Team moved to Suwon, Korea Republic and started their training to get ready for the Suwon JS Cup.
Korea Republic hosts the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 and the camp this time gives Japan a simulation of the upcoming World Cup. Japan will have 3 matches every other day: The first match will be against the U-19 France National Team on 18th, the second one will be on 20th against the U-19 Brazil National Team, and the last match against Korea Republic will be on 22nd.
After arriving in Suwon, the players had some training sessions mainly with running. On their second day, they had two-a-day trainings for the first match and they checked the team’s tactics in both offence and defence, and positioning in set pieces. They then attended a press conference held at Suwon World Cup Stadium. At the conference, Coaches from all participating countries expressed their motivation and aims towards the competition. Strong countries have come to join this competition; for Japan this is the good opportunity to see their current level in the world as a team.

DF #16 KOJIMA Masaya (Vegalta Sendai)
We have arrived in Korea Republic on 16th and today we checked set play and defence to get ready for the match tomorrow. The competition starts from tomorrow and we have good chances to play against France, Brazil, and Korea Republic – all of them are one of the strongest of each continent. I will do my best, keeping a good level of concentration in every single match we’ll have.
MF #3 NAKAYAMA Yuta (Kashiwa Reysol)
I have been called up to the squad after a long time, and I feel grateful that I can be a part of the National team to play internationally. It is important to make a quality of game, but I also think it is very important to stick to making a good result. The competition starts from tomorrow, and we want to show off our strengths in the match against France, one of the strongest countries. Brazil and Korea Republic have a higher ranking than us, so we want to play against them as a challenger. I will appreciate every given time to make this opportunity effective.
