U-19 Japan National Team short-listed squad training camp Day 2 in Shizuoka

27 April 2016

U-19 Japan National Team short-listed squad training camp Day 2 in Shizuoka

For the second day of the training camp in Shizuoka, U-19 Japan National Team short-listed squad had two training sessions in the morning and afternoon, and they checked the team’s tactics in both offence and defence. In the practical game training, the team’s Coach UCHIYAMA sometimes stopped their play and gave them directions. The players communicated amongst each other well to check positioning and timings to pass the ball. Overall, the sessions went on in a good atmosphere.

At the warm-up session which was led by Conditioning Coach OGAI, they took time to train core muscles and to improve running forms to make better performances on the pitch. Goalkeepers started their sessions 30 minutes earlier than the other players both in the morning and afternoon. Their training sessions were very hard, to prepare well for the future matches.

They will have a training match against Jubilo Iwata on 27 April and its purpose is to check their current level and issues.

Players' Comments

FUJITANI So (Vissel Kobe)
In the afternoon training, we had extra time to check defence. We paid attention to timings to take over defence when we have to keep checking, and approaching opponents much quicker to minimise the distance as much as possible. I think we could share the idea that all of us work together to defend. I will keep them in my mind in the match tomorrow.

KUBOTA Kazune (Kashima Antlers)
In this camp, we have paid attention to details as a team for the final qualifier. As a player, I played with attention to reaching our offence well, and controlling the game well as a midfielder. These are for surviving in this team.

In the training, we concentrated on offence in the morning and on defence in the afternoon. As a team we could understand what to do in the training match. Tomorrow, I want to stick well to how we play and to get a good result, and I hope that I can finish the 3-day-camp with a positive end for the team and for myself.

OMINAMI Takuma (Jubilo Iwata)
I am very happy to be called up for this short-listed squad camp. We have only 3 days for this camp, but the team’s mood is very good and we have had a very good time. I have many issues such as correcting my detailed positioning as a player, but I can still feel that I am getting better. Tomorrow, we have the training match against Jubilo Iwata. Apart from making a good result for sure, I will do my best making quality performances to show my advantages well.
