Match report
Tuesday 6 December saw the second day of the U-19 Japan Futsal National Team’s training camp in Nagoya city.
In the morning, the team played a training game against NAGOYA OCEANS SATELLITE; the players could not find the back of the net despite numerous goal-scoring opportunities. They lost the match.
Although the team has played three matches against NAGOYA OCEANS SATELLITE since the November camp, they have not managed to earn a win yet. However, they have certainly been improving in understanding the team’s concept and constructing combination plays.
In the afternoon, they held a one-hour-and-a-half training session, going through tactics, in order to prepare for the practice game against the top team of Nagoya Oceans on 7 December.
Players' Comments
UEMATSU Koto (P.S.T.C. LONDRINA)
I learned that there is still a lot of room to improve from today’s practice game. Personally, I must be able to play a better role as a FIXO player. Also, I’d like to contribute to the team by attacking more aggressively and looking for shots, not just focusing on defence. I’ll play hard in tomorrow’s game against the top team of Nagoya Oceans.
NITTA Hayate (NAGOYA OCEANS SATELLITE)
The way we started today’s training match may have decided the game. As we have been holding several training camps in the past month, we must have become ‘used to each other’ too much and played carelessly compared to the previous camp or the one before. We have understood the team’s concept and brought that more to the game. So we must become a stronger team by playing less carelessly. Despite the fact we are one team, I believe each of us has to perform well, bearing in mind that we are in a short-listed squad. I’d like to refresh myself for tomorrow, so that I can perform at my best.
NINOMIYA Hidefumi (BARDRAL URAYASU SEGUNDO)
We lost today’s game. I’d like to face that fact in order to learn from our experience. During the afternoon session, I stayed focused in preparation for tomorrow’s match against Nagoya Oceans. I’d like to play, pursuing a good result.
