Coach and Players' Comments

UCHIYAMA Atsushi, Coach
On the whole, I don’t think it was bad. However, even though we intercepted the ball, we lost it as a result of our errors, which let the opponent attack. So on many occasions, we had to spend a lot of time in defence. As scoring is the ultimate aim in football, we need to focus on attack more by increasing the quality of our plays. We kept a clean sheet. We’d like to continue to improve the team through during the limited activities available to us.

ENDO Keita (Yokohama F・Marinos)
Although it was the first time I had attended the national team’s training camp, I got used to the team in a short space of time, and showed my abilities. I assisted a goal in the practice match, which was good. I’ll do my best to make a contribution, so that I can stay in the national team.

MORI Kota (Ventforet Kofu)
Despite the short duration, it has been really productive. It was good to know how well we could play against Gamba Osaka. I think both the performance and the result were good. Having said that, we still have many tasks and need to fix them. I’d like to bring what I learned back to my team to improve myself.

MORISHITA Reiya (Cerezo Osaka U-18)
Though it was a short training camp, I tried to communicate with others as much as possible. We could avoid conceding a goal against Gamba Osaka. So I’ll continue to focus on keeping a clean sheet and improving myself even more back in my club.

TAKAGI Akito (Gamba Osaka)
As we built a two-goal lead in the first half, we kept taking the initiative in the second half. However, our team, including me, made many careless mistakes, letting the opponent create numerous goal-scoring opportunities. I think we have to raise the level as individuals – staying more focused, improving the accuracy of passing, and increasing the quality of positioning. It has been a very productive three-day training camp. I’ll play hard to join the national team again.
