Japan Beach Soccer National Team’s activity report from Asian Beach Games (21 Sep.)

22 September 2016

Japan Beach Soccer National Team’s activity report from Asian Beach Games (21 Sep.)

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team, who had been attending at a training camp in Danang, Vietnam prior to the Asian Beach Games, held two practice sessions, each in the morning and afternoon, on 21 September.

In the morning, the players worked on the build-up to shots with long-distance passes in order to check on the condition of the ball and the sand.

Then they did a five-a-side game format for one hour, going through tactics to score goals, which they had been practicing.

In the afternoon, since the team could not use the official pitch due to the regulations of the championship, they held a session on the beach near their hotel. There was neither goals nor lines. The coach Marcelo prepared an improvised pitch for beach soccer, using markers and cones. As the players had to play without goals or nets, and they were also surrounded by many tourists, they could not practice shooting or any aggressive plays. However, the teams went through attacking tactics, and organised their thoughts in detail.

The team will play a training match against Vietnam on a pitch that will be used for the Asian Beach Games, from 14:30 on Thursday 22 September.

FP #3  HARAGUCHI Shotaro (Inter Japan BS)
It’s been two days since we arrived in Vietnam. We have been going through our tactics, gradually getting ourselves in good condition. As we’ll play a training match against Vietnam tomorrow, I’d like to focus on both good performance and a positive result. I’m hoping to build up momentum for us prior to the coming Asian Beach Games.

FP #5  NAKAHARA Yuki (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
It was our second day in Danang in Vietnam. Although we’ve been struggling with the rainy weather here, there is a good atmosphere around and we’re preparing well for the coming games. The site for the championship is getting ready as well with a real local buzz. We focused on tactics during practice sessions today both in the morning and in the afternoon, and went through variations in attack. We’ll play a training match against Vietnam tomorrow, and I’m determined to win it, so that we can start the Asian Beach Games on a positive note.
