U-17 Japan Women’s National Team’s 6th day of training in Jordan

29 September 2016

U-17 Japan Women’s National Team’s 6th day of training in Jordan

The U-17 Japan Women’s National Team’s had their sixth day of training in Jordan on Wednesday 28 September. In the morning session, as the players were getting use to the environment in Jordan, they were communicating more actively and worked on acceleration running, counter-attack training and shooting practice energetically.

In the afternoon, they attended a ‘team arrival meeting’, where they received instructions on getting accreditation and learned about tournament regulations. Knowing that their first match of the tournament will take place on 1 October (Sat.), all the players listened carefully. The orientation meeting had a tense atmosphere, sensing that their world cup was finally set to begin.

Players' Comments

FW #11 TAKAHASHI Hana (Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies Youth)
The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 is about to begin and we only have three more days until our first match against Ghana. The atmosphere surrounding the team is positive and we are getting used to the environment (living) in Jordan. We are spending productive days. I know the importance of the first match, and it is vital that we make the best possible preparation and be in excellent form, both as individuals and as a team. Furthermore, we need to stay positive and enjoy training, while we get ready for the upcoming matches.

DF #5 USHIJIMA Riko (Hinomoto Gakuen Senior High School)
We are getting used to the living here in Jordan and spending fruitful time training for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016. We only have three days left until the first match against Ghana and we are making the final preparation for the tournament. The first match will be significant, if we were to win the consecutive world cup titles. Each one of us needs to make the best preparation possible, improving together as a team. Not forgetting the sense of joy in playing football, I will do my best so that I won’t regret it afterwards.
