Kakitani out, Toyoda called up for Japan

03 March 2014

Cerezo Osaka forward Kakitani Yoichiro has been forced to pull out of the Japan squad for Wednesday’s Kirin Challenge Cup friendly against New Zealand due to a fever.
Sagan Tosu forward Toyoda Yohei has been called up in place of Kakitani. Toyoda, 28, returns to the national team for the first time since August.
The match is to kick off at 7:40 at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Wednesday night.
