Futsal Japan National Team Candidates Training Camp Report (20th April)

Futsal Japan National Team Candidates Training Camp Report (20th April)

As players have gradually gotten back into their game shape, the day had two sessions each in the morning and afternoon.

In the morning players pushed themselves hard in the physical workouts. The AFC Championship will have multiple games in a short span. Players have to be ready for the touch stretch.
There were three different rounds of circuit training that all required both strength and quickness, and players took turns from one round to another. Even between rounds, they had to do push-ups, sit-ups and leg-raises. Players put their all out and grinded through each workout with grimaces.
Despite a short workout, their practice jerseys were all soaked with sweat.

The afternoon session had drills to confirm offensive attacks as a team. Four or sometime three players repeatedly made sure each set by controlling the ball, leading an attack and finishing it with a shot. Even during breaks, players were seen discussing the details of the plays.

The Nagoya camp is now halfway finished. The team will keep working hard for the rest of their way to prepare for the AFC Championship.

Players Comments

OSODO Nobuya(Vasagey Oita)
We have started intense workout to get our physical conditions up and ready for winning another AFC Championship. Even in the middle of a tough training, we constantly talk to each other, get our spirits up, and work our way through in a good mood. All of these are for winning the AFC Championship starting in 10 days. We don’t have much time left, but there are many things to be done. We keep working hard, building good chemistry, and helping each other to get to the next level.

KAWAHARA Hisamitsu(Agleymina Hamamatsu)
Continuing from yesterday, we worked hard on our bodies to get ourselves ready for defending our title in the AFC Championship. It’s sore all over my body, but we talk to each other, encourage each other and working our way through. I think with this group of guys, we can keep going and overcome tough goals. There are more things we should work on to win the championship, but we will take one day at a time and keep working.
