JFA hold Official Coaches Training 2014 on “Nutrition and Conditioning”

On Thursday 13th March, JFA co-hosted a coaches training session together with Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and its Amino Vital brand at the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences (JISS). The training was about nutrition and conditioning essential for elite high school and college players and drew 83 participants, although it was held in a weekday morning.

Takahashi Fumiko, nutritionist at SAKURA Dining of Ajinomoto National Training Centre, first spoke on what kind of meals and how athletes should eat, and the sample meals were served to the participants at SAKURA Dining. After that, Nakanishi Taro of Ajinomoto lectured on amino acids conditioning before Hayakawa Naoki, conditioning coach for Japan’s national teams, gave a presentation on conditioning for youth players.

There would have been a field work at the Ajinomoto Field Nishigaoka if the weather had allowed but due to rain, unfortunately the participants only listened to Yasumatsu Mikinori, from JFA Physical Project, on trainings with the ball. Lastly, another conditioning field work was held at the Track and Field Lab inside of the JISS facility.

Mr.HAYAKAWA Naoki, Conditioning Coach for Japan National Teams / JFA Physical Fitness Project
Regardless of the type of sport, when you think about training for youth, it is very important for coaches to understand the concept of kids’ physical development and what “condition” and “conditioning” are all about. As we are exposed to too much information in today’s society, it is also important for coaches to select wisely what kind of knowledge to give to players. Many coaches participated in this training and it made up the enthusiastic learning environment. I want to keep learning, too, as other coaches are doing so.

Mr.NAKANISHI Taro, Ajinomoto Co., Inc.
Helping this coaches training program is something our company can do to help Japan’s football to improve. So we did it again subsequently to last year. We think the concept of meals athletes should be aware of and “amino acids conditions” that Ajinomoto has developed together with Olympic athletes are very beneficial for elite football players. We would be happy if the “KACHIMESHI” program could help good players and good teams as the foundation for their growth.

Mr.TAKEI Ayumu
It was a very good opportunity to systematically learn the basic concept and knowledge about conditioning in terms of nutrition, supplements, warm-up and training. The presentations were backed up by evidences, so they were very convincing. I already knew some of the things taught, but I learned today how to utilise them as well, so it was very informative.
