Prince Takamado Trophy Under-18 Football League Premier League East Week 4 Preview
01 May 2014
The Premier League East of the 2014 Prince Takamado Trophy Under-18 will enter their fourth week on the 6th May.
Funabashi Municipal High School (Chiba) will square off against Kashima Antlers Youth (Ibaraki). Funabashi have yet to post a win, yet they have scored at least one goal in every game since the start of the season, so they hope to hold their opponents scoreless to cap three points. Kashima have recorded a pair of shutout wins out of the three games they have played so far, and it appears that again their defense will be a key for another win.
Tokyo Verdy Youth (Tokyo) and Consadole Sapporo Under-18 (Hokkaido), who are tied with the same points in the standings, will take on against each other. Verdy took a complete 0-3 loss to Shimizu S-Pulse Youth (Shizuoka) last week, while Sapporo had their first win of the season in the same week. While Verdy try to get some momentum, Sapporo look to cap consecutive wins, and it will be interesting to see what sort of a match they will play.
Mitsubishi Yowa SC Youth (Tokyo), who have not posted a win since their season-opening game, will take on the current runner-ups Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa High School (Chiba), to whom Mitsubishi Yowa lost in the two contests last year.

Shimizu S-Pulse Youth vs. Aomori Yamada High School
Shimizu, who have been a perfect 3-0 since the beginning of the season, will take on Aomori Yamada High School (Aomori) at their top-team's home field IAI Stadium Nihondaira. While S-Pulse have the mighty offensive corps, who have scored three goals in all the previous three games, they pay attention to their own defense as well. ''Even when we were pushed by the opponents a little, none of us loses his concentration,'' Shimizu's Suguri Reiji says. The Shizuoka side have accumulated points by playing rock-solid contests.
Aomori Yamada have not posted a win this year yet. They have had issues to play through the whole 90 minutes, as they allowed multiple goals in the second halves to Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa High School in the first week and Funabashi Municipal in the last week. So it will be interesting to see how Aomori Yamada will perform against Shimizu, who are known for their offensive power this weekend.
