JFA Academy Fukushima Ninth-term boys experienced rice planting

The 13 years old ninth-term boys of JFA Academy Fukushima experienced rice planting on Saturday 10 May at a local rice field. All players worked hard even though for half of the players it was their first experience planting rice. They will watch the growth of rice plants until the harvest season in this September.

It was my first rice planting experience. At first, when I entered into the paddy field, I nearly fell down because I lost my balance in very soft soil.  Also, I found it very difficult to plant neatly in the field. My clothes became very muddy after starting.  We will watch the growth of those plants.

Today I had a rice planting activity with my term mates.  We worked very hard in the paddy field to plant straight rows.  Many of us nearly fell down because we could not move our legs freely in the field.  I found it quite funny when I saw some of my term mates who ended up making messy rows even though they worked very seriously.  I appreciate the local people for giving us such a lovely experience today. Thank you very much.

At the beginning of the planting, the paddy field was very cold.  Gradually I got familiar with walking in the cold field.  When it came to planting, I found there were some messy parts even though I did my best to plant straight rows.  Understanding how difficult it is planting rice, I just imagine how hard the work of rice farmers is.  I will definitely watch the growth of the plants.
