Pick Up Match

Consadole Sapporo U-18 4-2 (1st 3-1, 2nd 1-1) Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa

The head coach Yomoda Shuhei of Consadole Sapporo U-18 (Hokkaido) who received lesson from Honda Yuichiro of Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa, when both of them were in Narashino High School, confronting each other at this week’s game. “(the match against head coach Honda) Feeling nervous but it is much important to play against Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa. Consadore Sapporo challenged Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa for earning three points as Yomoda said “I really want to win this game as we haven’t won the game against them for almost two years.”

It was Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa who dominated the game in the early stage. In the 13th minute, they got the ball in the midfield and fed into Miyagawa Rui in the frontline, then quickly gave a pass to space in the right flank. Suzuki Go ran through free of defense and fire the shot but it hit by crossbar. This play triggered the change of tide and Sapporo beginning to take control of the game as Kubo Kazuki grumbled “We could score many goals if we could have scored the opener”.  Hirakawa Motoki calmly scored the opening goal who got through pass from Takamine Tomoki, the opener for Consadore Sapporo. In the 25th minute, Hirakawa headed home the low cross from right side and two minutes later Tokuda Kanta pushed in loose ball from corner kick. Sapporo widened the lead to 3-0 in just matter of seven minutes.

On the other hand, Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa’s tactics didn’t go as planned “leave starting players on the bench and keep the clean sheet in the first half and attack in the second half when the other side gets exhausted.” They changed four players for substitute even in the first half. This change began to work out as Arakaki Takayuki scored goal in the 42nd minute and they finished the first half recovering pace of the game.

As with the first half, Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa making an attack after the break but Sapporo seemed to be showing no sign of impatience as Yomoda coach told “Expecting them to come forward”. The defense line including goalkeeper Tanemura Yuji didn’t lose their concentration and overcame the attack by solid defense and sometimes they made a counterattack when they see a chance. In the 80th minute, they got the ball in right side of their own half of the pitch and Hirakawa broke through the right flank by himself. He sent cross to Fujii Shinnosuke and flipped ball to left where Aihara Shohei found the net for game-clinching goal. They conceded one goal right before the final whistle, Sapporo won the match since week 3 game against JFA Academy Fukushima (Shizuoka) and escaped from the last place.

Comments

YOMODA Shuhei, Head Coach, Consadole Sapporo U-18
Paying not too much attention on the other side, I made the point to improve something missing in the previous games – conceding too many goals and not building up the attack effectively. But I never imagine we could score in the first half. It was very good because we could control the game by scoring the opener. In the scene of scoring the opening goal, we could exchange a pass in good rhythm and get the ball in the other side of the pitch, facing the goal and that allowed us to penetrate into behind the defense line. Our players showed good performance today but I will keep on working hard, not feeling at ease with today’s result.

KURAMOCHI Takashi, Consadole Sapporo U-18
It was good we could win the game but personally I regret the shifting the game trend to the other side after I missed PK. I was appointed by head coach Yomoda to be a kicker of PK when the new team formed this year but it was the first time for me because there was no PK opportunity before. I was bit nervous but I am determined to get the goal next time by training. We were overconfident because we won against Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa in pre-opening festival match of premier league, I realized our ability making no result in the first five games. I am going to play as hard as I can because I have nothing to lose.

ENOMOTO Masahiro, Coach, Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa
It was not bad in the early stage of the game; we couldn’t score the goal in the first chance that caused the problem until end of the game. Although having conceded the goal first, head coach Honda Yuichiro said “It shouldn’t be a problem 0-1 in the first half.” But gave up second and third goal too easily. It should be a good game if we could have played like we did in the second half and sometimes the players get mentally unstable. The weakness in mental aspects which needs to be addressed this year, brought about the result.

KUBO Kazuki, Ryutsukeizaidai Kashiwa
Trailing behind 0-2 in the first half, we could make comeback win in the last minute against Shimizu S-Pulse Youth (Shizuoka) in previous week. We thought we could make comeback like previous game but it didn’t work out right. In the second half, we demonstrated the football we are aiming for but there was something missing as we couldn’t score goal by hitting crossbar, etc. This year’s team is strong when it is on uptrend but lacks stability. I will try to take care and looking around you in daily life and I hope to take advantage of the habit when we play football.
