U-19 Japan National Team September Vietnam tour report (3 and 4 Sep)

Wednesday, 3 September

The U-19 Japan National Team, who will participate in AFF NutiFood U19 Cup 2014, arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam and started their practice sessions. Suzuki, the head coach, was welcomed by local media at the airport, and asked about the Japanese aim for this championship and the impression of the host country Vietnam.
The first training session for the players started at 16:30.
They mainly did running, taking into consideration their conditions after the matches of the previous weekend and the long flight.

Thursday, 4 September

The players held two training sessions on the second day of the Vietnam tour - one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
In the morning, they did some three-on-two passing in a small limited area, which made them carefully consider the positioning of other players. Then they had an eight-on-eight practice match in the end.
In the afternoon, the players focussed on attacking. They went through the process from the attacking combination to the shot, first using the whole pitch and then using just the half-length, which was just like playing in the opponent’s area.
Although it was very tiring and difficult to keep concentration due to the 30 degrees heat, the players stayed vocal in a good atmosphere during the training session. They will have their first match against Australia on 7 Sep, after adjusting themselves in two more training days.
They will get themselves into good condition for the coming 2014 AFC U-19 Championship in October.

Comments

OMOTEHARA Genta(Ehime FC)
I’d like to show what I leaned at the SBS Cup and get a good result as a team before the 2014 AFC U-19 Championship. Although it’s really hot here in Hanoi, I’d like to stay vocal to encourage others and get ourselves into good condition.

ANDO Akira(Fukushima United FC)
It’s been two days since we arrived in Vietnam. It’s difficult to concentrate during the training session due to the humidity and the heat, which caused several careless mistakes. I’d like to get acclimatised to this new environment as soon as possible for the matches. We will have a social event with local high school students tomorrow after the training sessions. I’m looking forward to experiencing Vietnamese culture outside football.

SHINDO Ryosuke(Consadole Sapporo U-18)
I’m very pleased to be here as a member of the U-19 Japan National Team. We had the attacking combination practice today. I’d like to learn the playing style of this team soon and will do my best, in order to play a good game and get good results in this championship.
