U-15 Japan shortlisted squad wraps up its East Japan Training Camp with internal intrasquad match

U-15 Japan shortlisted squad had its final day of East Japan Training Camp.

The players focused on how to receive the ball particularly in the vital area, effective timing to go into of the crucial area, and on techniques to dodge opponents’ defenders. The players spent a long time especially for the training session to understand how to get into 1-on-1 positions when the game situation is advantageous and how to fend off the defender. The training staffs were very enthusiastic and they didn’t hesitate to stop the play when they found any issues and tell the players what to do. With such a detailed guidance by the trainers, the players could gradually improve their situation sensitivity toward the end of the training.

At last, the players had an internal match between the members who played in the 1st half of the match against Shonan Bellmare Youth, and the other members who played in the 1st half of the match against Atsugi Kita High School. Since both mentioned matches were held yesterday and the players might be tired, both teams didn’t show enough aggressiveness both in offense and defense. “I couldn’t see any of your passion to win and any aggressiveness in offense and defense today. Think well about how much you guys can keep fighting especially in the very difficult situation”, the Head Coach MORIYAMA Yoshiro said strongly to the players. He also strongly demanded them to have higher motivation to keep working hard on what they learned in this camp even in their daily trainings after the end of this camp.

Next activities of U-15 Japan Squad are planned at the end of March in Osaka.

Head Coach MORIYAMA Yoshiro's Comment

I appreciate all 58 players from the West Japan Camp and the East Japan Camp for showing us their talents during these given opportunities. Both camps were meaningful for me to understand the players’ characteristics. I have already told the players in the final day of both camps that what we want, as the U-15 Japan Squad Team, is “weapon players”. I just want the players who joined in these camps to keep working on what they can do to improve themselves even after going back to their home teams, and to come back to this squad team in the future. Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Shonan Bellmare YoughYouth, and Atsugi Kita High School for having the practice matches. I also appreciate the hotel we used very much for supporting us. We will prepare very well including player selection for the next Central Asian Friendship Matches and another training camp outside of Japan in April.
