Japan provisional beach football team enter training camp in Okinawa

The Japan provisional national beach football team have begun their final tune up in an Okinawa Prefecture training camp for the 2015 AFC Beach Football Championship, which will kick off on 23 March in Doha, Qatar.

The team had expected to train under the blue sky and shining sun of Okinawa, but unfortunately they had to work in a cloudy weather with occasional scattering rain on the first day. The temperature during the practice was around 17 degrees, which was a little warmer than in the mainland.

This team, who aim to win the championship in the upcoming tournament, work to their full strengths no matter what circumstances they are in.On the first day of the training camp, the team went through just one practice session in the morning. Starting with menus of dribbling, short passing and trapping, they got to work on others that included long passing and shooting afterwards. Although it was only the first day, the team had no time to waste and fully practiced for the entire two hours.

''Let's focus more, playing every play more importantly,'' their head coach told his players during the practice. The team had an hour-long meeting after the dinner time to reconfirm their own goal.

GOTO Takasuke(TOKYO LEQUIOS BS)
Our national beach football team has trained in Okinawa Prefecture for a few times, but this time the practice site and hotel are different, so I was able to get in it with a fresh mindset. With the responsibility of being selected on the national team, I would like to focus on our practices and contribute to the team with my own brand of game as much as possible.

OBA Takaaki(Dorsole Kitakyushu)
On the first day of our training camp, we mainly worked on technical practices. The practice menu included a lot of elements that we are required to score with higher percentages, and I worked on them trying to raise the qualities of each play. In the three remaining days in this Okinawa training camp, we would like to become more united as a team and work hard, not losing our concentrations.

MOREIRA Ozu(TOKYO LEQUIOS BS)
This training camp in Okinawa is our last domestic camp before the World Cup qualifier, so we would like to have a better preparation. Also, in order to be able to play to our head coach's own vision, we are going to emphasize on our strategic practices. I want to lead the team as a captain so we can overcome our issues during the practices.
