Nadeshiko Japan checked it's offensive strategy on artificial turf after arriving in Canada
03 June 2015
On 2 June, a night after Nadeshiko Japan's arrival to Vancouver, which is the venue of FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, the players had training sessions in the morning and the afternoon taking into consideration their jet lag.
With some rain, the weather was cooler than their arrival day and it was around 15℃. In the morning, the players checked an artificial turf and their football boot studs by having passing and crossing training sessions. For the afternoon sessions, they mainly had sessions for offense such as 1 vs. 1 and making crosses. In both morning and afternoon, media crews from USA, Switzerland and Canada visited their training venue to find out Nadeshiko Japan's condition prior the up-coming World Cup.

It is very honorable that other countries check us out; it means we are recognised very well. I want to respond well to their interest in the actual matches. For Nadeshiko Japan to have the good results, I just want to do my best. Switzerland plays in the World Cup for the first time, but they are one of the strongest countries. I want to keep our level of play as challengers with respect to them.
FW #15 SUGASAWA Yuika (Jef United Ichihara Chiba Ladies)
Now we are in Canada, and that makes me feel excited for the World Cup. We still have a bit of time, but I keep my tension high to get ready well. Today I tried to have stronger attention to offense in the training sessions. I had stronger motivation for offense in the afternoon. For the rest of remaining time, I just want to keep improving myself both in offense and defense. Regarding the artificial turf, I'm not worried about it since I have played on artificial turf in Japan. What I need is to get familiar with this artificial turf here and to keep consistent, feeling it very well. First of all, we want to be well prepared for the first match.
