U-19 Japan Women’s National Team prepared for the next match against Uzbekistan at the AFC U-19 Women's Championship China 2015

A night after the first match against Australia at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship China 2015, U-19 Japan Women’s National Team had training sessions. The team was divided into 2 groups: starting squad group and substitute group.

In the morning, the starting squad had physical recovery sessions whereas the substitute group had a practical training such as 5-on-5+goalkeeper for about 1 hour.

In the afternoon, they watched the match between Korea Republic and Iran of Group B. Before their second match of the Group Stage against Uzbekistan tomorrow, the players discussed a lot amongst themselves sharing ideas for the up-coming match.

Players' Comments

MF #15   MIZUTANI Yuki (University of Tsukuba)
I found Korea Republic’s players are good at moving the ball around after watching their match against Iran. I also want to do my best to create a good mood of the team by moving the ball around well - this is my role.

In the series of training sessions, I have worked particularly on increasing my fitness. I expect that I can be stronger taking one more step ahead even in a difficult time. I will show what I have done in the next match.

GK #18   MATSUMOTO Mamiko (Urawa Reds Ladies Youth)
In the previous match against Australia, I was careful in how we started the competition, and I also tried to keep coaching the team on the pitch. Since I should have made a quicker decision to check the space between my defenders, I want to improve this issue tomorrow.

From goalkeeper’s eyes, I think we were good in intensive moments with the ball and in defense at the match against Australia yesterday. We could have added more goals if we could attack them more with varieties of offense. Tomorrow, I keep in mind that I will check the whole of the pitch more broadly.
